Blizzard "30-Second" ski reviews: new for 2008

GS Magnesium
Almost real World Cup GS race ski; meets new legal specs. Fast, great grip, demands energy and strong skills.

SL Magnesium
This is the real thing, according to Blizzard. Probably best used in gates. Not forgiving, but solid, fast, quick and a true competition slalom ski performance envelope.

Passion Vega
Highly rated female-specific, light weight, high performance, front-side-biased, carving tool. 1-ski-quiver for strong and technical skiers who ski mostly the groomed and mild-to-medium bumps.

IQon 7900
We really like this ski. It does everything well and is a good choice for technically skilled skiers and those who are working on building or improving skills who also venture off the groomed regularly.

Emoción 7900 Rage
Excellent all mountain 1-ski-quiver for women who spend a lot of time away from the groomed. Unusual in that it handles both the deep and bumps well. Very balanced ski, almost like its unisex sibling, although our female testers deemed it more challenging than did our men the IQon.

IQon 8400
"Not bad!" and "a pleasurable ski" were typical of the overall comments for the 84. Not the raves given the IQon, but still a solid, reliable off-piste ski that is also fairly agile on the groomed. Bumps are possible, but only for those who are accomplished 3-D skiers.
