Dynastar "30-Second" ski reviews

Contact ST 11

Exclusive Fluid
Nimble, quick, stable, versatile and with superior edge hold; this groomer focused ski delivers great performance in-bounds and is an excellent choice either for fast, carving-oriented females of for women who are developing strong technical skills in school or at camps. Exceptional teaching ski.

Contact ST 10

Exclusive Sensation
Relaxed cruiser for mid-level skiers who are not seriously focused on acquiring carving skills, although the ski is surprisingly OK on harder snow for this level.

Contact ST 09

Legend 4800 Fluid
Like the 8000, the 4800—descendant of the Intuitive 74—has been dialed down a bit and can be used by less accomplished technical skiers even than the previous iteration. Aggressive, fast skiers will now want to look elsewhere, but the 4800 should be a serious contender for mostly-groomed-sometimes-off-occasionally-bumps improving skiers and relaxed cruising oriented recreationalists.

Exclusive 10

Legend 8000
One of our favorite Dynastar all mountain skis, updated for 2008. Or should we say "downdated?" We don't mean that in any negative sense. Dynastar has deepened the sidecut, reduced turning radii and made the ski easier to handle, especially at lower speeds. All this has not significantly affected the top end of performance. A great ski has become better and more versatile, both in terms of performance and in suitable usability by skill level.

Exclusive Carve

Exclusive Legend
Great, versatile all mountain 1-ski-quiver for strong female skiers. Two comments tell the story: "User friendly for a wide range of abilities, this ski does it all." and "Favorite of the day!"

Legend 4800

Legend Mythic Rider
Like its leaner siblings, this replacement for the 8800 has wider performance and skill suitability envelopes than previous versions. And, also like the 4800 and 8000, the envelope has been made bigger at the bottom without sacrificing much at the top. Pro-level big mountain backside skiers may lament a slight loss of stability and power, but most off-piste skiers will find the skier a great performer still, both on and off-piste, and easier to handle. More relaxing and slightly quicker. As one tester wrote, "This is a very good ski!"
